Three Simple Tips to be Happy and Healthy
You will be surprised how closely related health and happiness are! A healthy lifestyle is a mood booster and will help you increase joy in your daily life, while a positive mindset can lengthen your lifespan and help you avoid unhealthy habits. A great way to start is to set your mindset into an optimistic and active perspective. Your diet, habits, and social network can also affect both your mental and physical health.
But we know, changes are hard and keeping in line can be sometimes extremely difficult. That is why we created these 3 simple daily challenges. Anyone can stick to 3 tasks a day! You can do it! The added benefit, a healthy diet, combined with exercise and good sleep will also be extremely beneficial for your dental health 🙂
- Eat Fresh: Consume 5-6 servings of fruit and vegetables a day. Fruits and vegetables contain important vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that will keep you healthy and happy.
- Love Sports:
Exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Any kind of exercise is a proven way to keep yourself fit and healthy. At least 2-3 times a week, do moderate to vigorous exercise, such as dance, jogging, weight-lifting, or swimming. You can support this with some light exercise on the days you don’t hit the gym, such as taking a walk, Pilates or practicing yoga.
- Sleep Well:
We know it’s easier said than done, but a good night of sleep can improve your memory and concentration, boost your immune system, and help you cope with stress more easily. Ideally you should be getting 7-9 hours of sleep a night. There a few ticks to help you achieve those Z’s and sleep better, try installing blackout curtains on your windows, take a warm bath or shower before bed and/ or drink herbal tea, such as chamomile or valerian. The number one rule: absolutely no electronics an hour before bed! No phones, computers or other forms of electronic interaction help promote sleep.
