Wisdom Teeth Extractions
Wisdom teeth are located in the back of the mouth and are also known as third molars. They normally appear in a person’s late teens or early twenties.
Often, wisdom teeth are impacted, not fully erupted into the mouth because of blockage from other teeth. Impacted wisdom teeth can be a source of pain and discomfort.
Sometimes in spite of good oral hygiene, the brush or floss never reaches enough since they are too far back in the mouth, causing decay and gum disease.
Crowding and damage to adjacent teeth, damage to jaw bone or nerves, are among other reasons to proceed with wisdom teeth extractions. Wisdom teeth may position themselves horizontally, and angled in any direction.
When a wisdom tooth is extracted, the surrounding tissue will be numbed with a local anesthetic. In addition to that the dentist would recommend the use of sedation according to the case. We like to provide our patients a painless and stress free experience.
After the procedure is done, Dr. Ordoñez will make sure that the patient follows all caring instructions to have a full recovery.
